BMC Chopra Blade (No.117)
BMC Chopra Blade (No.117)
*SOLD*
The Chopra Blade MKI is 100% handmade in the UK - The Chopra was designed to limb trees, make camp, clear trails and process wood.
Since 2025, we are offering these on a fully custom basis. This means each blade is unique and might be a one-off colour combination. This is No.117.
This Chopra has a Black PTFE blade coating with Richlite (similar to Micarta) Handles paired with Olive Drab G10 Liners.
This blade ships with a hand made Kydex sheath with custom D-ring dangler belt carry and shoulder sling strap attachment. This allows for easy over the shoulder carry.
The Chopra replaces the need for a hatchet and or camp axe when out in the bush.
The 5mm spine has a distinct and effective design. The centre of gravity is concentrated over the blade 'belly' where most leverage and power is needed in a downward chop.
The Chopra features a primary sabre grind and is finished on a linishing machine to limit pinching and aid deep cuts.
It's made from CS80 Carbon spring steel for fast and effective sharpening and great toughness. It will need sharpening from time to time and in CS80 this is easily achieved.*
The ergonomic sculpted handle is a handsome combination of functional modern and traditional SE Asian shapes.
The handle butt curves and swells to provide a comfortable and safe handle. It was purposefully designed to eliminate hot-spots. The handle length is extended to allow for extra leverage chops.
The 'choked-up' forward grip with generous finger guard and unique ridges on the front of the thumb rise give amazing control for detailed work.
The finger guard is separated from the choil to avoid the index finger accidentally slipping onto the cutting edge. A concern when using a larger knife for an extended period.
It is a skeletonised full tang construction offering weight saving for extended use and peace of mind when using this tool day in day out for serious work.
- Each Chopra is individually numbered.
- This blade is covered by our limited lifetime warranty.
- Please note this coating is not impervious to wear and will show wear over time.
- *As a carbon steel, you will need to keep your blade well cared for by keeping it dry and protected from rust.
- We recommend using a light machine oil or Steel Guard Lubricating Cloth. After use, simply wipe off any dirt then wipe with the oiled cloth to keep the steel gleaming. The coating does help keep this blade more resistant to corrosion than the plain steel variants.
