At BMC Bladeworks, we don’t do disposable. We craft serious outdoor blades for serious use — whether you’re clearing trails through thick underbrush, navigating through woodland, or preparing for your next expedition.

Born from a frustration with mass-produced, built-to-break tools, BMC was founded to revive the lost art of functional, dependable bladed tools. Our focus? Rugged, purpose-built cutting tools that excel in the real world.

While our roots are in large bush blades, we’re equally passionate about designing compact companions for the avid woodsman: from bushcraft blades to forestry tools, survival gear, and Search And Rescue tools.

Every blade we design is engineered with intention. We use premium-grade high carbon and stainless steels, heat-treated for durability and impact resistance. Our handles are 3D-machined for ergonomic comfort, grip security, and fatigue-free use in wet, cold, or unpredictable conditions.

When designing each new blade, there are many considerations that feed into the design. The main ones include:

• Ability to sharpen in the field.
• Grip in changeable conditions.
• Comfort and safety for the user.
• Balance and blade weight. Not always where you'd want it for a 6" kitchen knife.
• Toughness.
• Ease of use.
• Grind geometry for the blades intended purpose.
• Material combinations, longevity and performance.
• Sheath retention, usability and blade protection.
