The Chopra feels great! It is such a relief after designing something on paper and computer for so long, with lots of back and forth, that the real steel version actually feels good and performs well! Phew!

Now, we sadly only have the paracord wrap as a handle as the CNC machined handles aren't quite ready yet. One thing the paracord handle doesn't do is absorb shocks well...

My hope is that the layered Micarta scales and G10 liners will significantly reduce vibration and make the blade a dream to use. (Update the Richlite scales do indeed reduce impact vibration considerably).

Splitting Logs:

The Chopra works great smashing through wood. It will go straight through most logs, but as with any splitting tool - I have found any incomplete chainsaw cuts lower down the round will stop any blade, or more accurately - the split it creates, dead in its tracks. Something to remember to avoid when cutting the log rounds with the chainsaw.

Weight:

I was worried she'd be a heavy girl... But my fears were largely unwarranted! Yes at 785g with scales, the Chopra is a big blade, but far from unmanageable and with the weight curving up and forward, its exactly where you want it. Yes, it is a bit overkill for simply clearing light brush. But for processing wood? This blade works well.

Watch this space for a slightly more diminutive Mini-Chopra. I think shaving off a little mass will make an incredible all-round tool perfect for taking on extended expeditions.

All bodes well for full production!
