At BMC Bladeworks., we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This Returns & Refunds Policy outlines your rights and our process for returns and refunds, in compliance with UK consumer law including the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

1. Your Statutory Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off Period)

As a consumer purchasing from our website (a distance contract), you have the legal right to cancel your order and return items for any reason within 14 days from the day you (or your nominated recipient) receive the goods.

To exercise this right:

• Notify us of your decision to cancel within the 14-day period (no reason required). You can do this by emailing us at [insert your returns email, e.g., info@britishmacheteco.com] or by using the model cancellation form below.
• You then have a further 14 days to return the item(s) to us.

2. Conditions for Returns

For returns under the cooling-off period or for non-faulty items:

• Items must be returned in their original, unused condition, with all tags, packaging, and accessories intact.
• We reserve the right to refuse or deduct a restocking fee if items are damaged, used, or not in resaleable condition (beyond what is needed to inspect them).
• Return shipping costs, any customs duties, import taxes, or other charges are the responsibility of the buyer. We do not cover or reimburse these costs unless the item is faulty or not as described (see section below).

3. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If an item arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described, you have additional rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015:

• You are entitled to a full refund, repair, or replacement (at our discretion).
• Notify us as soon as possible (ideally within 30 days for a full refund option).
• In these cases, we will arrange and cover reasonable return shipping costs upon agreement. Provide photos and details when contacting us.

4. Refund or Replacement Process

Upon receipt of your returned item(s) at our warehouse:

• We will inspect the product(s) within a reasonable time (usually 5–10 working days).
• If approved, we will process:
• A full refund to your original payment method (excluding original outbound shipping costs, unless the return is due to fault/non-conformity), or
• A product replacement if agreed upon.
• Refunds are typically processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned goods, though it may take additional time for your bank/card provider to reflect the credit.

We will notify you by email once the inspection is complete and the refund/replacement processed.

5. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned under the cooling-off right (unless faulty):

• Custom-made or personalised products (e.g., engraved or bespoke machetes/blades).
• Items that have been used, sharpened, or altered.
• Perishable goods or items that cannot be resold for hygiene reasons (if applicable).
• Sealed goods that have been unsealed after delivery for health/safety reasons.

6. How to Return an Item

1.        Contact us first at info@britishmacheteco.com with your order number and reason for return.

2.        We will provide a returns address and any necessary instructions.

3.        Package the item securely in its original packaging (or equivalent) to prevent damage in transit.

4.        Include a copy of your order confirmation or proof of purchase.

5.        Ship the item back to us using UPS or DHL, adult signature required, tracking required. Retain proof of postage and share tracking number with us.
