The BMC M13 Imp Neck Knife - Your Everyday Edge.

The EDC Tool to make your cutting tasks safe, fast and effective.

BMC are known for our high-quality, well-engineered, and reliable outdoor tools - and we're back with our most... pocket-sized project to date.

Last year, we launched our first successful campaign in the BMC Chopra, a large, forward-weighted cleaver-parang tool. This time, we are going much smaller!

This year, we're proud to present the M13 Imp, an extremely versatile and eminently useful little Neck-Knife.

IIntroducing the M13 Imp

The Imp is designed to be the small fixed-blade that can be relied on for all those everyday tasks - from opening boxes to sharpening pencils, to cutting tape to preparing dinner. This little knife can do it all.

Neck Knives are traditionally carried around ones neck on a "necklace". In this case, we are providing a high quality Kydex sheath with a length of mil-spec pararcord. It also features a length adjustment slider for added convenience.

The sheath comes with eyelets spaced at common distance 1 inch giving you the ability to add a multitude of aftermarket clips for belt carry. Due to its small overall length of just 135mm / 5.5in and slim profile; the Imp will easily slide into any pocket or work bag.

This is a companion knife, both to you in the general sense, and to any larger knife you may have. The sheath eyelet spacing also allows for piggy-back setup onto a larger blades sheath - maximising your effectiveness when at work or out in the woods.

Designed to be diminutive

Big blades are great for large volume foliage management tasks, brush clearance, making camp etc. But oftentimes a little knife is needed for those more delicate tasks.

The Imp is smaller than our Vanguards handle!

Despite it's small size, we knew you need to have a usable blade. The Imp's carefully considered finger choil brings 3 major advantages:

• Your index finger rests just behind the edge heel, allowing supreme cutting control
• Your finger is safe from interacting with the edge
• You can easily get three fingers on the choil and handle; giving you great grip.
• The rear lanyard hole was relocated to the lower part of the blade to allow for a lanyard to be added, if knotted or threaded with beads this will offer space for your pinkie and provide more grip when unsheathing the blade from it's sheath.

Ergonomics all the way

Here is a short list of what makes the Imp supremely safe and comfortable to use:

• Scalloped and chamfered Micarta handle scales (Prototype is G10).
• The full tang spine is chamfered all the way around - no sharp edges when holding it.
• The thumb ramp is designed to offer a reassuring thumb rest with subtle jimping to offer control when working in wet conditions.
• Shaping of the knife butt allows for a very comfortable reverse / ice-pick grip for opening that bean tin or breaking ice on your cold plunge!

Steel that will last

We have chosen to use D2 steel for the Imp. You should find it a remarkably tough steel that stays sharp for a very long time. The high chromium carbide content makes D2 extremely wear-resistant, meaning it stands up well to heavy cutting and abrasive materials. Those warehouse boxes don't stand a chance...

It is a semi-stainless tool steel which has been used by professional blade makers for decades and is ideal for cutting, slicing, and controlled use.We intend to heat treat the Imps to 60 HRC hardness. Offering a great compromise between edge retention and ease of sharpening.

This blade is built to last - it has been designed and engineered to last you years/decades of hard use. It has a very generous belly which can be resharpened and is an ideal shape for hunters and warehouse workers alike.

The blade features a hollow ground primary bevel, keeping this little blade slicey and arguably more useful for it's intended tasks than a flat grind may offer.

The overall flowing lines and great ergonomics make this little Harpoon Drop Point blade the perfect companion knife.

**Please note, as this is a fixed blade knife, despite its very small size, in the UK it would still be deemed only legal to carry and use on private property. If you are considering this knife for work, consider speaking to your supervisor first for permission.
